I assume that not every business owner pops out of bed 100% ready and excited about hitting the field every single day. So what do you do on those occasions that you just aren’t sure you’re up to it that day? Here are some quick tips.
Here are some tips for getting through the day in your business when you don’t feel like it.
Manage the emotion of it.
If you’re finding yourself constantly fighting against yourself, you might start by checking out yesterday’s message on Understanding The Struggle With Chronic Worry, Anxiety, and Stress.
But if you know that it sometimes feels harder than others to get yourself in the game mentally, start by simply recognizing that you’re struggling, allow yourself accept it for what it is without overreacting and shutting down completely, and try to show some self-compassion. If self-flagellation is your go to move, try a little gentleness and understanding.
Refocus on the bigger goal in your business.
You may not want to work today, but you’ve got some place you want to be in 3-6 months or a year. If you really just need a day off, maybe you should take it. But if you know you need to keep moving then maybe reminding yourself of the end goal can provide some motivation.

Any runner will tell you there are times when all they can do it put one foot in front of the other and that has to be good enough.
Allow good enough to be good enough.
If the best you can do on a day is to hang on, let that be enough. Allow yourself to feel good that you were at least able to do that and it might help build some momentum for tomorrow.
And finally, know when to ask for help.
Athletes from beginner to pro all have coaches every step of the way. Coaches and mentors can share experience, provide guidance, and see things in you that you simply can’t see in yourself. Maybe it’s time to ask for and accept a little help.
