Continuing the series on Increasing Sales and Revenue for Your Small Business, this episodes expands on previous videos by focusing on how to get the message you’ve developed in front of the right people.
How To Get Your Marketing Message In Front Of Your Target Audience
In this video I share a couple tips for getting your message out in front of the right audiences. Here are a couple of the key points I shared.
Release your marketing message consistently.
Both in frequency and duration, you need to make sure you’re getting your message out often enough and for long enough that it gets the attention of your target market. Consistency helps to build trust as well as establish credibility among an audience that doesn’t yet know you.
Make sure your message and media are congruent with your target market, offer, and positioning.
If you’re positioning yourself as a premium solution, your pricing, offer, and the style of your message all need to reflect that. Your image, language, and tone should match the perceived value of the medium you’re utilizing.
They say Lamborghini doesn’t advertise on television because their prospects aren’t watching. The lesson is that you need to speak to your target audience where they are in a manner that’s congruent with your offer and positioning.
Take responsibility for your results.
There’s a lot that’s within your control. Follow up with leads, pick up the phone to generate more, and direct outreach online can have a faster impact than passively putting your ads out and waiting for the phone to ring.Until you've got the momentum to pull you along, you need to be out there pushing. A lack of response is still feedback.
It’s not what you want and it can be hard to know what it means, but if you get no response to your marketing there’s still a lesson there for you. If you think you’ve correctly defined your ideal fit client avatar and crafted an appropriate marketing message and you still aren’t getting the response you expect, it might be time to reach out to a mentor or coach for a second opinion.
