Multiple times this week I spoke with business owners who felt that their business growth had frustratingly plateaued. Here are some tips for plateau busting in your business if this is a place you find yourself.
Breaking Your Business Plateau
The first thing to know is that plateaus are normal and expected in business, just as they are in weight loss and exercise. If you find that you’re feeling stuck in this situation, the answer is “new”.
Einstein said you can’t solve a problem using the same thinking that created it. Here’s how you change your thinking.
- New Information. Reading books, listening to podcasts, taking courses, and attending conferences and seminars are great ways to incorporate new information into your body of knowledge.
- New Experiences. New experiences produce new results and force you to face new situations. Taking more or different action will results in new experiences from which you can learn and adapt. Incorporating these new experiences and results could just be the kick you need to bust the plateau.
- New Perspective. This could be the most important of all and is why coaching, mentorship, and hanging around the right people is so important. In many cases, you’re just too close to your own situation to be objective. Getting an outside perspective could be exactly what you need.
In the end new results are produced by new action and your actions are driven by your beliefs. Change your beliefs and you’ll change your results.
In this video I mentioned James Allen’s book As a Man Thinketh. I highly recommend it, especially if you like other authors of the New Thought Movement like Napolean Hill, Wallace Wattles, or Raymond Holliwell. If you would like to check it out, please consider using my Amazon affiliate link below.
