How do you measure personal success or success in life and business? For every small business owner I know, these are inextricably linked. If my business succeeds, I succeed.
How do you measure success?
Yes, for any small business things like positive cash flow, profitability, and actually paying yourself are important. It’s hard to feel successful if you can’t cover expenses.

So to define success, it’s important to ask yourself two questions.
- What’s important to you?
- Is your business providing what’s important to you?
My experience, and that of my clients, has been that the financial results follow the positive emotional energy. So ask yourself if your business is aligned with your core values, your vision and purpose, and your super power.
If so, you likely feel successful and fulfilled by your business and are seeing the financial results and rewards following suit.
If not, maybe that’s where you need to start.
