The easiest, most efficient, and most effective action you can take is the action that is aligned with who you are. If you’re feeling burned out on doing, and are ready to start being successful and happy in your business, this message is for you.
Stop Doing and Start Being
+ The Big Lie You May Be Telling Yourself
Frustration, overwhelm, busy, disorganized, unfocused, and stalled out or stuck are all signs that you might be fighting against yourself. Possibly because you’ve bought into the lie. The lie that says, “If I can do more, I can be more. If I can do better, I can be better. If I can do everything, I can be who I want to be.”The biggest lie of all is that you aren't enough exactly as you are. Click To Tweet
But we all fall for it because in one way or another we were told so by someone we loved, trusted, and respected. We were told to stop acting that way, that our grades or performance determined our worth, that to get the acceptance we wanted we had to play some role or another.
It’s totally understandable, and usually well intended, but it was a lie.The lie that tells us we need to do in order to be. Click To Tweet
But this leaves us fighting ourselves. As I said, the most productive, efficient, effective action we can take is that action that is aligned and congruent with who we are.
So how do you get there, you ask? Here are a couple tips to get you started:
- It takes practice and perspective. Unlearning doesn’t (typically) happen over night. We’ve developed these habits and beliefs over a lifetime. So be patient with yourself, but keep at it. Getting outside perspectives is extremely helpful, so seek out books, seminars, conferences, and maybe even consider working with a therapist or a coach.
- Continue to build self-awareness. You can change what you aren’t aware of, so work to build your awareness of who you really are and what you’ve come to believe. The lie won’t be able to stand up to the truth, which you will find in awareness.
- Increase and cultivate self-acceptance. The more you feel you’re enough and believe you’re enough, the easier it will become to act congruently and consistently, which is where the real magic happens.
