Have you ever caught yourself thinking, “How long will this business take to grow?”, “When will I finally get this thing figured out?”, or “Will this business ever get any easier?” If your business is trying your patience, maybe it’s time to look at what’s working and what isn’t.
How quickly should a business grow?
I know I talk a lot about acceptance and gratitude and planting the seeds of happiness and success in the present, but we also want the actual results too, right? But how long does it really need to take?
Let’s look at the three things you bring to your businesses:
- Skill – what you can do. These include both your technical skills around the product or service you offer, but also your business, sales, management, and leadership techniques and abilities.
- Knowledge – what you know. Again, what you know both about your specific industry and area of expertise, but also what you know about running and growing a business.
- Mindset – what you believe. What you believe to be true about yourself, your business, your industry, and the world.
If you’ve got a plan and it’s working then you’ve got no problem. You can optimize 1 and 2 and keep getting better results.
But we typically put too much emphasis on 1 and 2 because we can understand them. We know how to learn and try harder. What we don’t know is how to “believe better”. And I get it. But if skill and knowledge don’t seem to be getting you where you want to be as fast as you want to be there, it might be time to look at your mindset and beliefs.Success doesn't start with what you do. It starts with who you are and what you believe. Click To Tweet
